Lamar Jackson and the Ravens overrun the Cowboys at halftime with 21:6

Cowboys fans are not happy and heaped boos on their team as they left the field at the end of the first half.

The Cowboys trail the Ravens 21-6 at halftime. They have lost their last two home games in the 2023 wild-card round, 48-32 to the Packers, and last week’s home opener, 44-19 to the Saints.

Today it could be worse.

The referees gave away a safety in the second quarter that the Ravens should have had when Dak Prescott grounded a pass while being tackled by Nnamdi Madubuike in the end zone. Instead of grounding him, however, the referees gave the Cowboys an illegal touching penalty when offensive lineman Tyler Smith caught the pass.

It probably won’t matter.

The Ravens have 272 yards, including 111 rushing yards. It is the 36th game in a row in which the Ravens have reached at least 100 rushing yards. Derrick Henry, who was interested in a contract with the Cowboys in the offseason, has 12 carries for 52 yards and a touchdown, Lamar Jackson has six for 39 yards and a touchdown and Justice Hill has one run for 17 yards.

Jackson completed 10 of 11 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown, including one of 13 yards to Rashod Bateman.

The Cowboys have 169 yards and field goals of 66 and 51 yards by Brandon Aubrey, who is 10 of 10 this season. His 66-yard kick was the second longest in NFL history next to Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker’s 67-yard kick against the Lions in 2021.

Tucker only shot extra points today, which is why the Cowboys are 15 points behind.

Prescott completed 12 of 20 passes for 140 yards, CeeDee Lamb caught three for 58 yards and lost a fumble.
