She is expected to work full-time and take care of all the housework while her husband stays at home with the baby. She finds this unfair

When a couple decides to have children and one parent stays home while the other works, that parent is usually expected to take care of the household and possibly cook, in addition to caring for the children.

A woman is angry at her husband who leaves her in the role of househusband while she works, but still expects her to do all the housework and cooking.

She and her husband both worked full-time and talked about having children a year ago. At that time, she knew she wanted to take a break from work to adjust to motherhood and being a stay-at-home mom because she saw how stressful it could be to hold down a job and be a mom at the same time.

Her husband joined her and said he was OK with the idea. Then they started trying to have children.

A few months later, she was pregnant. During this time, her husband did a lot of research and changed his mind. He was determined to be a stay-at-home dad after the baby was born.

She agreed to the change of plans and gave birth to her daughter, Lily, five months ago. She had paid maternity leave but had to go back to work just over two months ago while her husband stayed home with Lily.

She assumed that her husband would not only take care of the baby but also cook and clean since she worked all day and would be exhausted when she got home.

Unfortunately, that was not the case.

“When I get home, I just want to relax, but my husband always gives me Lily before he locks himself in his office and tells me to look after her because he’s tired,” she explained.
