Is this what an actual crime looks like?
Whether it’s temporary or not, the Carolina Panthers’ move on from struggling second-year quarterback Bryce Young started with a bang. And it was 14th-year veteran and new starter Andy Dalton who fired the shot – leading the offense on an eight-play, 70-yard touchdown drive to open their Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Dalton completed five of his six attempts on possession for 56 yards and a score. The 36-year-old played to four different receivers – wide receivers Adam Thielen and Diontae Johnson, tight end Tommy Tremble and running back Chuba Hubbard.
The connection with Hubbard, a 6-yard reception, capped the touchdown for Carolina’s first passing touchdown of the 2024 season.
In addition, Hubbard managed one run of 18 yards on three carries.
His score was also the Panthers’ first opening touchdown in 21 games, the longest active streak in the NFL.
