Drew Gilbert and Jett Williams continue to lead the Mets on offense. Williams has been tearing apart the Knights’ pitchers in this series during his first stint at the Triple-A level. He has struck out 8 of 18 batters, with four doubles and seven walks, with just four strikeouts. Meanwhile, Gilbert hit his 10th home run of the year, his second in as many days. • RHP Kodai Senga (4.76 ERA) 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K (15 throws/8 hits)

The big story here is Kodai Senga’s return to the mound late in the season. Senga missed the entire first half of the season due to a shoulder injury. He returned to make a good start on July 26 against the Braves, but injured his calf.

Senga performed well on Saturday, striking out two of four batters without allowing a hit or a run. Due to the increased offense and longer time between innings, Senga pitched only one inning (well under his 30-pitch limit).

How Hamel CathedralTidwell finished his 2024 season with two strong starts. His appearance on Saturday was his first sixth inning appearance since Aug. 16 and his second this season with double-digit strikeouts.

The Triple-A Syracuse Mets end their season on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET with a game against the Knights. Michael VasiI’m expected to be on the hill.
