It was a quiet weekend for fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide, who had a week off after a 3-0 start to the 2024 season. As a bonus, the Auburn Tigers suffered an ugly home loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks, dropping to 2-2 on the season.

With No. 2 Georgia also having a day off, No. 3 Ohio State playing Marshall and No. 1 Texas taking on Louisiana Monroe, it was a fairly quiet weekend. The only major change in the Week 5 AP Poll was Tennessee moving up to No. 5 after dismantling the Sooners in Norman. Nine members of the SEC appeared in this week’s top 25.

The season really gets going next weekend when Georgia travels to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama for the first time in the Kalen DeBoer era. The winner of that game will most likely play in the SEC Championship game. With both teams coming off a break, they should both be healthy and have good game plans. It will be an exciting game at Saban Field.
