Fantasy Football Start/Sit: Jalen Nailor, Rico Dowdle, Alec Pierce (Week 3)

Looking for fantasy football start/sit lineup advice for your lineup this week? We’ve got you covered. We have our Who Should I Start tool to help you choose between two players and our weekly projections that give you an overview of every player in your leagues. Don’t forget to sync your leagues with MyPlaybook so you can access our Start/Sit Wizard that will give you specific advice to help you dominate and bring home the championship.

Here’s our fantasy football start/sit article, including all the players we’re calling dark horses and duds this week. Below, we’ll take a closer look at some players to consider this week.

Jalen Nailor (WR – MIN)

“Recipient of Minnesota Jalen Nailor is ranked as WR65 and 125th overall and completely under the radar in most leagues. Nailor hasn’t exactly been bathed in targets, but with the Vikings’ options limited at pass receiver, he’s found himself in TJ Hockenson’s end zone role. He’s scored in both games this season and his role is growing each week. He finished as WR47 and WR23 and points upward. This week’s ranking makes him a solid flex option against a Texans defense that is sure to send their best defenders at Justin Jefferson.”
Aaron St Denis (Fantasy Football Universe)

Rico Dowdle (RB – DAL)

Rico Dowdle is my advantage when I play this week. Dowdle increased his yards per carry from 3.2 in Week 1 to 4.3 in Week 2. He also got four opportunities on the first drive last week. This coaching staff wants Dowdle to be the guy.”
Joe Pepe (Beyond the field)

Alec Pierce (WR – IND)

Alec Pierce leads the Colts in receiving yards by over 100 yards. He has the second most targets and receptions and also leads the team in WR snaps. He is 6th in the league in air yards, 2nd in aDOT and 8th in yards per reception.”
Brandon ‘B_Don’ Myers (Razzball)

Alec Pierce had a monster Week 1 and followed up with a solid finish in Week 2. He is currently WR58 and ranks 116th in the Half-PPR Flex. Pierce is currently WR8 overall. No, I don’t expect him to keep that pace up. But we can’t ignore usage. His snaps went from 84% to 95% from Week 1 to Week 2. His targets went from three to seven. Last week he finished with five receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. Chicago isn’t a great opponent, but Jaylon Johnson won’t be covering him this week. Pierce is coming on and has already shown his potential. Flex consideration is worth it.”
David Heilman (Podcast network for sports betting)

Alec Pierce has delivered top-20 WR finishes two weeks in a row, with WR8 in week one and WR19 in week two in a half-point PPR. Pierce enters week three against a tougher Bears defense that gives up the 11th fewest fantasy points to opposing WRs in 2024; however, he has the most receiving yards, receptions, receiving touchdowns and second-most targets through the first two weeks of the season for the Colts. Pierce and Anthony Richardson have had a good connection early this season. I expect Pierce to get some throws on the field and a long connection could easily push Pierce to surpass that WR58 and 6.8 points projected in a half-point PPR for Week 3.”
