Chicago Bears at Indianapolis Colts – Odds, Expert Tips, How to Watch: Two young quarterbacks face each other

The Indianapolis Colts are one of many 0-2 teams in the NFL hoping for a win and are slim favorites going into Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

The headline here will be the matchup between the two young quarterbacks, with Indianapolis’ Anthony Richardson (last year’s No. 4) going up against Chicago’s Caleb Williams (this year’s No. 1). Both quarterbacks have experienced some of the expected teething issues that come with playing the position at the highest level, but both also have the potential and talent to take over a game at any time.

But as notable as this matchup is, the game could ultimately come down to the Bears offensive line versus the Colts defensive line. In two games, the Colts run defense has been shredded by both the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers, allowing a league-high 237 rushing yards per game. No other team in the league allows more than 200 yards per game. Add in the injury to defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, and things could get even bleaker on that front.

Bringing in free agent D’Andre Swift could be a big opportunity for the Bears after he has managed just 48 yards on 24 carries so far. An effective running game could take some of the pressure off Williams, who is coming off a game in Houston where he was physically battered due to the lack of protection in front of him. If the Bears offensive line can’t take control in this game, it’s worth asking whether it ever will this season.
