The Florida Panthers will play NHL hockey on Sunday for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup.
Florida will welcome its fans to Amerant Bank Arena for its season opener, er, opener against the Nashville Predators.
The split squad doubleheader begins with Game 1 at 2 p.m. and Game 2 at 6 p.m.

Panthers head coach Paul Maurice said during the week that he is not putting too much importance on the composition of Florida’s offensive lines and defensive pairings at this time.
That’s because the Cats’ training camp roster includes several players who will soon return to their respective junior teams.
These young people will get their first glimpse of the NHL on Sunday.
Maurice said that in some of his combinations he wanted to pair veterans with young horses, as we saw with the pairing of Gus Forsling and Marek Alscher, and in others he simply paired up fellow countrymen.
For fans not in attendance, there will be a live stream of Panthers games with radio announcer Doug Plagens on the phone. A link to the live stream will be available on the Panthers’ main website around the start of the doubleheader.
