The much-anticipated ticket sale for Coldplay’s India concert turned into a comedic uproar on social media when the BookMyShow website crashed seconds before the release.
After an eight-year wait, the legendary British rock band is returning to India. Three concerts are scheduled for 18, 19 and 21 January 2025 at the DY Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai. The highly anticipated event is part of their worldwide Music of the Spheres World trip.
Tickets for the first two concert dates began selling today at 12 noon IST on BookMyShow. However, the excitement overwhelmed the platform, which crashed just seconds before the Mumbai shows went on sale. BookMyShow quickly recovered and resumed operations. Tickets for the January 18 and 19 shows sold out quickly.
While tickets are no longer available for the first two days, tickets for the concert on January 21 are still on sale. Fans are eagerly trying to secure a seat for the final show.
Meanwhile, excited fans on X expressed their frustration and disappointment in the form of hilarious memes. The hashtag #BookMyShow was a trending topic within minutes.

The concert was originally scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2025. However, the overwhelming response from fans prompted the band to add another night. The British rock band announced the new date on X, stating, “Due to phenomenal demand, a third Mumbai date at DY Patil Stadium has been added for January 21, 2025. Tickets are on sale today from 2:00 PM IST.”
