North Carolina Central 66-24 North Carolina A&T (September 21, 2024) Match Report

DURHAM, N.C. — Walker Harris threw three touchdown passes and ran for another touchdown on Saturday night, and J’Mari Taylor added 126 rushing yards and two TDs to help North Carolina Central defeat North Carolina A&T, 66-24.

Harris completed 15 of 24 passes for 244 yards, and his 2-yard touchdown run put the team up 40-12 late in the second quarter.

Taylor ripped off a 66-yard touchdown run that gave North Carolina Central (2-2) a final 14-9 lead with 5:51 left in the first quarter. The Aggies scored three times on their ensuing drive and were out before Harris and Markell Quick scored on a 60-yard touchdown about five minutes later and Isaiah Fisher-Smith blocked a punt that was recovered in the end zone by Trey Goodridge to make it 27-9 with 14:47 left in the second quarter.

Malcolm Reed recovered a fumble caused by DJ Estes and returned it 11 yards for a touchdown with 1:37 left in the third quarter, making it 53-18. Cameron Williams intercepted a pass on the next play, and then Javion Martin Harris replaced Harris and scored a 46-yard touchdown to Mekhi Wall on his first play 29 seconds later.

Aaron Harris scored a 100-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff and North Carolina A&T (1-2) led 6-0 after Andrew Brown missed the PAT attempt.
