Shedeur Sanders sends game into overtime

It’s been 14 years since Colorado and Baylor played a football game against each other.

The Buffaloes and Bears play their Big 12 opener in front of a national television audience. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders scored the first touchdown of the night.

Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson scored a 45-yard touchdown on fourth-and-2 to give the Bears a two-point lead.

Jamaal Bell returned a kickoff 100 yards and scored a Baylor touchdown to give the Bears back the lead.

Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson threw a beautiful 30-yard touchdown pass to Monaray Baldwin, who pounced on the ball in the end zone. The touchdown play capped the Bears’ seven-play, 75-yard drive.

Travis Hunter caught a 24-yard pass on third down and drew defensive pass interference in the end zone later in the drive. On the next play, Shedeur Sanders scored a rushing touchdown from two yards out.

It was Colorado’s first touchdown on the ground this season.

Unless Baylor can run at will, the team is at a massive disadvantage in this matchup due to its quarterback situation, especially with Shedeur Sanders on the other side. The momentum from last week’s win and the homecoming spirit give Colorado the edge.

According to BetMGM’s college football odds, Colorado is the one-point favorite to beat Baylor as of Saturday morning.

Colorado will be without running back Dallan Hayden on Saturday. The Ohio State transfer was the Buffs’ best runner before missing the Week 3 win over Colorado State. He is expected to be back next week for UCF, but Isaiah Augustave (transfer from Arkansas) and true freshman Micah Welch will lead the Colorado backfield against Baylor.
