West Seattle Blog… | TRAFFIC ALERT: Spokane Street Viaduct schedule changes for this weekend(Screenshot of a traffic camera looking west over the Spokane Street Viaduct)

ORIGINAL REPORT, FRIDAY, 4:55 PM: Although the low bridge has been reopened to all traffic, SDOT says there will be a change to the previously announced plan for lane closures on the Spokane Street Viaduct (the extension of the West Seattle Bridge between 99 and I-5) this weekend as the rehabilitation project continues. Here is the new plan:

Friday night to Monday – 20.09.24 to 23.09.24
NO EB CLOSURES
WB Full lane closures – Friday 10:00 p.m. to Monday 5:00 a.m.

This means the following for this period:

WB S Spokane St Viaduct – Closed from the I-5 interchange to SR 99.
S Columbian Way exit ramp to WB Spokane Viaduct – Closed. Ramp to Lower Spokane St remains open.
NB I-5 exit ramp to WB Spokane Viaduct – Closed. Ramp to Lower Spokane St remains open.
SB I-5 exit ramp to WB Spokane Viaduct – Closed. Ramp to S Columbian Way remains open.
1st Ave S Exit – Closed (by WB SSV).
1st Ave S ramp – Closed (according to WB SSV).
Port of Seattle, Terminals 5-18/Harbour Island/11th Ave SW, Exit – Closed.

EB S Spokane Street Viaduct – All lanes open

There is no estimate yet as to how long the project will take, but we will continue to ask.

11:32 am SATURDAY: Although readers mentioned that the I-5 on-ramps were closed early this morning, others have since pointed out that there are NO lane closures currently in place. We are trying to reach SDOT to find out what is planned for the rest of the weekend.

16:23 SATURDAY: SDOT tweeted that the construction site is “clear,” meaning there will apparently be no further closures this weekend.
