The script for Batman – Part II is finished.

“The Batman Part II,” the sequel to 2022’s “The Batman,” is expected to hit theaters in October 2026. Robert Pattinson will reprise the role of the Dark Knight in the film, and Matt Reeves will once again direct.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Reeves confirmed that the script for “The Batman Part II” is now finished and production is expected to begin next year.

Reeves also said that Batman Part II will “jump ahead in time” after the events of the first film and the television series The Penguin. He also said that Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb and his actions in The Penguin will serve as “one of the entry points” in Batman Part II.

“Oz becomes one of the entry points of the film,” he said. “I can’t tell you where it goes from there, other than we’re super excited.”

Farrell will reprise his role in the sequel to The Batman. Further plot details are currently under wraps.

The Batman, The Penguin and The Batman Part II are all part of Reeves’ The Batman Epic Crime Saga. Reeves said that additional television series set in the same universe are currently being considered.

“I always wanted to make sure that in each of the films we did with Rob, the central story arc, the emotional arc of the story came from Batman and Bruce,” he said. “Then when I was talking to Warner Bros. about a TV deal, I said it would be exciting for me to take on characters whose stories don’t have enough space to fully cover in a film and really delve into them. I want it all to become this all-encompassing Batman crime epic.”

“The Batman Part II” will be released in US theaters on October 2, 2026.
