Iliff and Crownover named SEC Players of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – University of Missouri volleyball senior, right wing Jordan Iliffe and redshirt sophomore setter Marina Kronenbergboth received weekly SEC awards, the league announced Monday.

Iliff was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while Crownover was named SEC Setter of the Week. The duo helped MU to a 3-0 weekend at the Mizzou Invitational.

Jordan Iliffe was the driving force behind the Tigers’ offense in the home opener, recording 35 kills (3.50 kills/set) with a .443 hitting percentage. She also recorded 19 digs with seven aces and three blocks in the three games.

The St. Louis native has scored double-digit kills in each of his last two Mizzou Invitational games.

Iliff opened the Invitational with six kills at a .600 hitting percentage, as well as four digs, two aces and a block against Kansas City.

She then added her fourth double-double of the year, posting 16 kills and 11 digs at a .609 clip in the sweep of UT Martin. Iliff also had three aces and a block. The hit rate is the fifth-highest mark by an SEC attacker in 2024.

She then finished the weekend with 13 kills, along with four digs, two aces and a block against Lindenwood. It was her eighth game with more than 10 kills in 2024.

The right-wing attacker ranks ninth in the conference in kills per set (3.80, 114 kills) and points per set (4.40, 132.0 points, 10th in the SEC). She also has a .325 batting average this season, good for 10th in the SEC.

Iliff has also recorded a total of four double-doubles this season.

For Iliff, this is the third weekly SEC award of her career after winning two in 2023.

Marina Kronenberg totaled 87 assists (8.70 assists) and 19 digs at the Mizzou Invitational. She has recorded 30 or more assists in her last two starts and has recorded 10 or more assists in every game this season.

Crownover recorded two aces and 17 assists at the start of the Invitational against Kansas City, which was a career high.

She then had 33 assists and eight digs with three aces, two blocks and a kill in the sweep of UT Martin.

Crownover recorded her first career double-double in the final against Lindenwood, surpassing career highs she set in the previous game with 37 assists and 11 digs. The Austin, Texas, native hit three aces, also a career high, and had one block and one kill.

Crownover averages 7.63 assists per set (145 assists) in the 2024 season. She also ranks sixth in the SEC with 0.47 aces per set (nine aces).

The SEC’s weekly honor is the first in Crownover’s career.

  • Next, Missouri hits the road again, heading to Nashville, Tennessee to complete non-league play and prepare to compete in the Lippy Invite.
  • Mizzou will face Lipscomb on Thursday, September 19, with first serve set for 6 p.m. CT, before facing Illinois on Friday, September 20. Friday’s games are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. CT. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
