Paris Saint-Germain dropped their first points of the Ligue 1 season on Saturday after Ousmane Dembele equalised for a 1-1 draw at Reims.
Reims took an early lead when Japanese winger Keito Nakamura picked up a cross from compatriot Junya Ito quicker than Marquinhos and fired the ball under PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who was again stepping in for the injured Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG were without new signing Desire Doue for the second half due to injury, and his replacement Dembele scored a goal just minutes after coming on, finishing in Joao Neves’ cross at the far post.
Dembele has scored four goals in five league games at the start of the season, already surpassing his tally of three goals in his first season at the club.
Luis Enrique’s side extended their lead at the top of the table to three points after extending their unbeaten away run to 27 games, the longest in Ligue 1 history.
However, PSG, who began their Champions League campaign on Wednesday with an unconvincing 1-0 win over Girona, could be overtaken by Marseille and Monaco.
Marseille travel to Lyon on Sunday, while Monaco host Le Havre, fresh from their 2-1 win over Barcelona earlier this week.
M’Bala Nzola’s 96th-minute equaliser earned Lens a 1-1 draw at Rennes and secured an unbeaten start under new coach Will Still. Arnaud Kalimuendo had put Rennes ahead in the first half from the penalty spot.
Lille and Strasbourg shared the points in a thrilling 3-3 draw as Jonathan David’s last-minute penalty saved the hosts from a fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions.
As the only one of four French clubs to fail to win in the Champions League during the week, Lille took a two-goal lead thanks to a brace from Kosovar winger Edon Zhegrova.
A young Strasbourg team coached by Liam Rosenior responded with three unanswered goals – from Andrey Santos, Emanuel Emegha and Sebastian Nanasi – to take the lead, but they could not hold on to the win.
