22 new snacks at the Central WA State Fair

If you like fried food, the Central Washington State Fair is the place for you when it opens at noon Friday at State Fair Park in Yakima. For decades, food at the fair has been a major attraction for many visitors, prompting fair officials to offer a wide variety of culinary delights.

OH WHAT WILL YOU DO FIRST??

Kathy Kramer, president and CEO of the Central Washington Fair Association, announced that fairgoers can look forward to 22 new food items this year, in addition to popular staples. “We strive to keep our food offerings varied and exciting.”

1) Crazy Jarritos
Selection of fruit water, chamoy rim and garnished with fresh fruit.
2) Teriyaki boat
Teriyaki chicken and rice served in a pineapple boat.
3) Flaming Brick
Curly Fires with nacho cheese or garlic aioli sauce and garnished with crushed spicy Cheetos.
4) Cheese Corn Dog
Hot corn on the cob dipped in cheese, optionally with crushed Cheetos.

5) SPAM fries
Fried SPAM cuts fire.

6) Mac-N-Cheese Hotdog
Grilled hot dog with macaroni and cheese.
7) Hot Cheetos Pizza

This tool helps attendees find their favorites and “walk their way through the show.” Returning favorites include classics like corn dogs, Young Life BBQ beef sandwiches, roasted corn on the cob, funnel cakes, and the ever-popular fried elephant ears. But for those looking for something a little different, the show promises a range of fried treats and a whole host of new flavors this year.
