Weather in Boston, New England weather forecast – NBC Boston

We wish we could order a better weather forecast for your weekend. But the good news is that we are not expecting any rain this weekend.

Get your rain gear ready for this Saturday. The low pressure system that has been spinning offshore for the past few days will continue to influence our forecast with scattered showers over the Greater Boston area.

However, the chance of rain is highest in the communities along the Cape and Islands, and today will see heavy rain at times. Our forecast models also suggest an occasional shower or two toward Central Mass. Otherwise, skies will be mostly cloudy with patches of fog. Highs will be just above 15 degrees.

Gusty east-northeast winds will blow at up to 30 miles per hour in Boston and up to 40 miles per hour on the Cape and Islands.

The onshore current and gusty winds will cause even more concern along the coast. In fact, a flood warning is in place for our north and south coast beaches and the Cape and Islands until Sunday, particularly at high tide.

High tide in Boston will be at 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, and again at 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. Be careful. Minor flooding is possible, especially in flood-prone areas. Turn back, don’t drown. High surf is also expected, with waves of 10-14 feet expected in the surf zone through Saturday.

By Sunday, the low pressure system will move further away from our area, allowing us to see some rays of sunshine between the clouds. Highs will be around 18 degrees. Sunday is also the first day of fall, officially at 8:44 a.m.

Some sunshine is expected on Monday and Tuesday, before more unsettled weather sets in from Wednesday through next weekend. We have several days to refine the forecast.

Maximum temperatures will be above 15 degrees Celsius for most of next week, with nighttime lows above 10 degrees Celsius.
