ESPN College Gameday 2024: Georgia vs. Alabama selected as Week 5 host site | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

The Week 5 matchup between Georgia and Alabama is one of the most anticipated games of the 2024 college football season, so it is only fitting that College Game Day will be based at Bryant-Denney Stadium.
ESPN announced on Saturday that the September 28 episode College Game Day will broadcast from Tuscaloosa.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer has led Alabama to a dominant 3-0 start in his first season after replacing the retired Nick Saban, who is now an analyst at College Game DayThe Crimson Tide outscored their opponents 147-26 in a loose schedule that included Western Kentucky, South Florida and Wisconsin.
Next week marks the first regular season meeting between the two SEC rivals since October 17, 2020. Alabama won that game 41-24, moving to a 13-0 record and a national title.
The last three times Alabama and Georgia have faced each other, it was either the SEC Championship Game or the College Football Playoff Championship Game. The Crimson Tide won two of those three games, including last year’s SEC title game, which ended the Bulldogs’ undefeated season and knocked them out of the playoffs.
Georgia hasn’t won at Bryant-Denney Stadium since 2007, Saban’s first year as Alabama’s head coach.
This year’s expanded 12-team College Football Playoff likely means that the loser of this game won’t be eliminated from the national title race, but the winner will have an excellent chance at one of the top four spots and a first-round bye.
