Hot and humid weather on the last weekend of summer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Summer is ending with a bang! Our 9th heat wave of the year will last through the weekend and into the start of fall.

Unseasonably hot weather is forecast for both days this weekend. Lows of around 15 degrees and highs of around 30 degrees are expected, as well as high humidity. A mix of clouds and sunshine is expected on both days.

The weather is perfect for a visit to the pool or lake to end the last official weekend of summer. Fall officially begins on Sunday at 7:43 a.m.

Monday will be a little cloudier. A few showers and thunderstorms are expected during the day as a cold front moves in. The afternoon will still be hot, with highs staying just above 30 degrees, but it will become cooler towards Tuesday.

This front increases the chance of rain showers and some isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday. There is a 50% chance of rain. However, highs will be lower, in the high 30s.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will see temperatures just above 80 degrees. Each day will have a slight chance of rain due to a tropical system that will hit the Gulf of Mexico and could reach as far as Tennessee by mid to late next week. Lows will also be cooler, just above 65 degrees.
