OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT) – We’ll start the weekend with a few scattered showers early Saturday. Rain should be scattered and sparse during the day, but chances of rain and thunderstorms increase after sunset. Rain chances are highest overnight and into early Sunday.
There is a slight risk of a few isolated, strong thunderstorms later today after 3 p.m. as a strong cold front moves in. Overall, there may be one or two storms bringing large hail or gusty winds, but most should remain below the limits.
Apart from that, I expect today to be a very warm and humid day with highs of around 35 degrees. Temperatures have risen significantly in the last few days.
Dew points will be muggy all day before dropping significantly later at night.
It will probably rain again on Sunday, but it should ease a little by the afternoon. Overall it will be a cloudy and cooler day with highs around 15 degrees, with temperatures dropping significantly between Saturday and Sunday.
Overall, the heaviest rain will be expected south of I-80 until the rain chance ends early Monday, where 1-2 inches of rain are most likely.
A cooler period of fall weather begins on Sunday and should last all next week. Next week will likely see several mornings start with temperatures around 4 degrees.
