Caitlin Clark may already be trying her second career.
As the Indiana Fever prepare for their first playoff series since 2016 and face the favored Connecticut Sun in a highly anticipated matchup in the first round of the WNBA postseason, Clark tried something new – baseball announcing.
It appeared that the Fever star and favorite for Rookie of the Year was on the phone from his bedroom on Wednesday for a Brewers home game against the Phillies.
Her teammate Lexie Hull took out her phone and recorded Clark “commenting on the game” from the room.
She even tried to use the “announcer voice”.
“Runner on first base, no outs…that’s…someone’s at bat,” Clark said at one point.
That someone happened to be Garrett Mitchell, an outfielder for the Brewers.
She made a few more comments throughout the inning and even mentioned Phillies starter Aaron Nola’s soccer cleats, which drew numerous laughs from Hull.
Clark also couldn’t keep a straight face and smiled during her game commentary.
In the comments on Hull’s video after it was posted, Clark apparently tagged the Phillies and asked if they would hire her.
Clark, who is entering her first playoff series as a professional, and the Fever face a big challenge against the Sun, who have the best defense in the league.
The best-of-three series begins this Sunday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC.
