Big Ten announces 2024-25 conference schedule – University of Nebraska
Lincoln- Nebraska will be tested early and often as the Big Ten Conference released its 2024-25 men’s basketball schedule on Thursday afternoon.
The Huskers’ 20-game schedule begins with two traditional December powers facing Michigan State on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Indiana on Friday, Dec. 13. The opening game against Michigan State marks the eighth time in the last nine seasons that Nebraska has opened the Big Ten Conference on the road. The Big Ten home game against Indiana will mark the fourth time since 2019 that the two schools have met in December, but the first December duel in Lincoln.
The January home schedule begins with one of the most highly anticipated games of the year when the Huskers host UCLA on Saturday, Jan. 4. It will be UCLA’s first visit to Lincoln since the 1955-56 season and their first meeting as Big Ten teams. Other January home highlights include Rutgers (Jan. 16), a team that has two of the top three picks on ESPN.com’s NBA Draft board, USC’s first visit as a Big Ten member (Jan. 22) and a game against Big Ten tournament champion Illinois (Jan. 30). NU’s road schedule this month includes away games at NCAA runner-up Purdue (Jan. 12), Iowa (Jan. 7), Maryland (Jan. 19) and Wisconsin (Jan. 26).
In February, Nebraska has three home games, including a Super Bowl Sunday matchup with Ohio State (Feb. 9) and games against Maryland (Feb. 13) and Michigan (Feb. 24). This month, the Huskers also make their first West Coast trip to Oregon (Feb. 2) and Washington (Feb. 5), as well as games at Northwestern (Feb. 16) and Penn State (Feb. 19).
The Huskers will finish the season by playing two of their final three games at Pinnacle Bank Arena. NU hosts Minnesota (March 1) and Iowa (March 9), interspersed with a road game against Ohio State on March 4. The game against Iowa will be the Huskers’ Senior Day and the last regular season game before the 2025 Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis March 12-16.
Start times and network designations for all Big Ten and non-conference games are expected to be announced later this month.
Season tickets for the 2023-24 season start at $153 and can be purchased at Huskers.com/Tickets or by calling the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED during business hours (9 a.m.-4 p.m., Mon.-Fri.). In addition, student season tickets are also available for UNL students. For more information on purchasing student tickets, visit Huskers.com/students.
The Huskers return three starters from a team that went 23-11 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014. Seniors Brice Williams and Juwan Gary form the foundation of a Huskers attack that returns seven key players and adds seven transfer players for Big Ten Coach of the Year Fred Hoiberg for the upcoming season.
