Matt Hardy discusses Jeff Hardy’s tribute to Bray Wyatt at TNA Impact

Matt Hardy spoke about his brother Jeff Hardy’s recent tribute to Bray Wyatt.

In August 2023, the wrestling world was shocked to learn that Bray Wyatt had tragically died of a heart attack at the age of just 36.

At a recent set of TNA Impact! tapings, former WWE and AEW star Jeff Hardy wore face paint reminiscent of Wyatt’s Fiend mask. Jeff’s brother Matt worked closely with Wyatt in WWE, and Jeff made a cameo appearance in their Ultimate Deletion match in 2018.

In a recent episode of his podcast “Extreme Life,” Matt Hardy spoke about the tribute to his brother and confirmed that it was a touching tribute to their late friend.

“Yeah, it was 100% inspired by The Fiend’s mask. Jeff said, ‘Hey, do you think it would be cool if I did, you know, kind of a tribute.’ I said, ‘Yeah, man, that would be awesome. I think that would be great. That would be very cool for your face paint.’ He’s done some stuff that was very skeletal as we were getting closer to the Halloween season and stuff. He said, ‘I want to try to pull that off,’ and it was absolutely identical. It was very cool that Jeff was able to pay his respects and honor The Fiend on TNA Impact.” (h/t WrestlingNews.co)

Another wrestler who paid tribute to Wyatt was Swerve Strickland, who wore Fiend-inspired tights at AEW Full Gear 2023.

Jeff and Matt Hardy are happy at TNA

In another recent edition of Extreme Life, Matt Hardy spoke about his feelings about working for TNA following his departure from AEW. Hardy stated that both he and Jeff are happy with the way things are and seem to be included in the creative plans for the rest of 2024:

“We’re both very, very happy. We’re extremely happy with where TNA is right now and we’re going to keep doing that for a while. We just talked about some creative stuff that’s going on through the end of this year. So that’s very exciting. We’re into what we have.” (h/t Fightful)
