Erin Andrews has become a staple on the sidelines of Fox’s NFL coverage, but there’s a chance that could be over after this season.
Andrews recently admitted that her current contract with Fox Sports expires at the end of the NFL season.
“I think my goal is always the same as last year. Enjoy it because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up – and mine is up,” Andrews told Charissa Thompson in the last episode of her Calm down with Erin and Charissa Podcasts.
Andrews’ previous contract ran until 2022 and she signed a new three-year deal in July this year.
“Contract year, huge!” replied Thompson, the host Fox NFL Kickoff and Prime Videos Football on Thursday evening audition show.
“So, contract year, election year and what else is going on?” Andrews said. “I feel like an hour before (game day) I’m always in such a panic that I try to recite some (information) and memorize it so I can say it easily, which I’m not doing very well at the moment.
“I feel like I always try to be really good at preparing.”
While Andrews could quietly re-sign with Fox like last time, the situation is a little different this time. Prime Video is inclined to spend on big-name talent, which could make her a potential suitor. And NBC/Peacock, CBS/Paramount and ESPN/ABC’s increased need for football reporters could open up a spot for her as well. There’s also the possibility that Andrews will look beyond football for new opportunities in the world of sports broadcasting.
Andrews has been with Fox Sports since 2012 and has covered the NFL exclusively since 2016. Before that, she worked for ESPN for eight years.
