What is included in the sale?

While Amazon didn’t give us much away in its October Prime Day announcement, Walmart did give us a sneak peek at some of the deals we can expect during the sale. Check out Walmart’s full press release for all the details.

While this list of deals is quite small, we can still get a good idea of ​​what the larger sale will look like. Toys will likely be one of the main categories Walmart will offer discounts on, which is consistent with what Amazon said about its upcoming LEGO deals. There are also quite a few deals on home goods, like the portable carpet cleaner and HEPA air purifier, which make a higher density of deals on everyday home appliances seem likely. The two laptop deals on this list are fairly unspectacular, however, and likely indicate that the focus is less on big savings on tech.

Will Walmart adopt Amazon’s prices?

This list of deals does not include all of the deals that will be on sale during Prime Day in October. The larger retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy will likely match the prices of some of the bigger brand items, as they do with any sales event. We almost always see price adjustments on Apple products and video games, and this sale will be no different.

Should you shop this sale or wait for Black Friday?

Generally speaking, October deals aren’t as good as Black Friday deals, but they’re still a great opportunity to save money on things you need right now. Homeware, clothing and everyday items are some of the most sought-after items in these deals and are definitely worth checking out before the Black Friday discounts in November.

Still, you’ll probably want to wait to make any really big tech purchases until the 2024 Black Friday deals actually arrive. Walmart, in particular, is known for offering some of the best deals on TVs and Apple products on Black Friday.
