FORECAST
Happy Friday!
Yesterday there were a few pop-ups in the evening – a pleasant change. Today the situation is similar. While most of us won’t see anything, we can’t rule out a few pop-ups in the late afternoon, mainly after 3pm.
Otherwise, it will be hot and humid again. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s, while heat index readings will be around 105°. Plan for plenty of heat if you have any plans Friday night, including football games!
Temperatures will drop by a degree or two this weekend. However, it will still be hot enough as fall officially begins on Sunday and temperatures around 35 degrees are forecast.
Next week, the first full week of fall, brings a pattern change.
A weak front will attempt to reach Central Texas on Monday. Then, mid-week, as our high begins to crumble, we could see enough lift to produce a scattered shower or two while highs drop to just under 35 degrees.
Meanwhile, a tropical disturbance is still possible in the Caribbean and southern Gulf of Mexico through mid-week. Where exactly such a system would develop is still a big question. Moreover, if something does develop, its path is also questionable.
Unfortunately, it is still far too early to say. For now, we will have to wait and see.
We’ll keep you updated! Until then – have a nice weekend and stay cool!
