Nelly Furtado is back with a new album!

The “Maneater” superstar returned on Friday (September 20) with her new studio album, “7,” which a press release describes as a collection of liberated pop music that is both celebratory and deeply personal, from her perspective as “a grown woman living without shame or apologies.”

The 14-track album includes collaborations with Tove Lo, SG Lewis, Stereo Bomb, T-MinusLido Pimienta, Wondagurl, Dom Dolla, Charlotte Day Wilson, FNZ, Owen Palette, Tynomi Banks, Blxckie, CharmingAnd Grey Hawkenamong other things.

Nelly said she wrote 400 songs over the course of four years, culminating in her most inspired and personal collection to date.

“I was able to build such a supportive community of artists and creatives around me – it was such a safe, communal space to create art and vent my emotions in a productive way,” she said.

“I set up the studio like a soundcheck – with amplifiers, echo, reverb – and we were constantly recording. The songs became portals to escape into.”

“I thought I could live without music, but I was wrong. My craft is my passion. Music is so powerful and has such a positive force. I believe listening to music is the healthiest vice in the world. I have rediscovered my artistic voice through all these sessions and I am so proud of it. 7”, she added.
