“Netflix’s Black Mirror casts Issa Rae and Awkwafina in season 7

Netflix Black Mirror has confirmed its cast for season 7 with Awkwafina (jackpot), Milanka Brooks (Mom and I don’t talk anymore), Peter Capaldi (Criminal records), Emma Corrin (Deadpool and Wolverine), Patsy Ferran (Arsonist), Paul Giamatti (The remains), Lewis Gribben (Blade Runner 2099), Osy Ikhile (citadel), Rashida Jones (Sunny), Sienna Kelly (Domino Day), Billy Magnussen (Street House), Rosy McEwen (Blue jeans), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), Issa Rae (Barbie), Paul G. Raymond (Terrible stories), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-like), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld) and Harriet Walters (Consequence).

Further details about the characters the 19 actors will play are secret. Black Mirror is currently in production.

Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical anthology series returns in 2025 with six new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister, one of the series’ most popular episodes. Jesse Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson and Michaela Coel star in the original episode, which aired as the first of the fourth season.

The Emmy-winning installment was written by Brooker and directed by Toby Haynes and follows Daly (Plemons), a reclusive but gifted programmer and co-founder of a popular massively multiplayer online game who is bitter about his colleagues’ lack of recognition for his position. In a story that explores themes such as fragile masculinity and the dangers of technology, Daly vents his frustrations by simulating a Star Trek-like space adventure within the game, using his colleagues’ DNA to create sentient digital clones of them – with terrible consequences.

“The USS Callister will return… Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, the trouble is just beginning,” said a teaser released by Netflix at an event in London in March.

Brooker created the series and serves as executive producer along with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. Brooker and Jones’ production company Broke & Bones continues to produce and Banijay Rights is distributing the series.
