VERO BEACH – Breeze Airways is adding two new destinations from Vero Beach Regional Airport to Washington, DC and Ogdensburg, New York beginning November 21.

There are nonstop flights between Vero Beach and Ogdensburg International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport on Thursdays and Sundays.

“After announcing service from Vero Beach to New Haven a few weeks ago, we are now back with more,” said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, in a press release Tuesday evening. “There has never been service to Dulles from Vero Beach, and connecting Vero Beach Regional Airport to the nation’s capital will no doubt be a tremendous asset to the community.”

Washington Dulles International Airport is located about 42 kilometers west of downtown Washington. Ogdensburg International Airport is located in the north of New York State on the Saint Lawrence Seaway, which connects the USA with the Canadian capital Ottawa.

Where can Vero go?

Other destinations include Washington and Ogdensburg as well as Islip (New York), Providence (Rhode Island), Hartford (Connecticut), White Plains (New York), New Haven (Connecticut) and Newburgh (New York).

Breeze has been flying to Vero Beach since 2023. The airline, based in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, was founded in 2021 by David Neeleman, who also founded Morris Air, WestJet, JetBlue Airways and Azul Brazilian Airlines.

In 1932, Eastern Airlines became the first passenger airline to serve Vero Beach. In the 1990s, USAir Express and American Eagle flew through the airport, but cut ties in 1996. In 2015, Elite Airways began operations at the airport, but suddenly left in 2022, leaving the gap that Breeze now fills.
