Brittany Renner sparked a heated backlash when she claimed in a recent social media post that she had “no idea how” to care for her three-year-old son, PJ Jr.

The influencer, who has over 4.6 million followers on Instagram, faced heavy criticism for sharing her fears about how to care for her little boy, whom she has with Dallas Mavericks star PJ Washington.

On Saturday, the 32-year-old internet personality spoke publicly about her financial worries in an Instagram video. In the video, she wore a khimar, a piece of cloth worn by Muslim women that covers the head, neck and shoulders.

“I’ve been through a lot of changes internally. And as a result, my external world has completely collapsed,” Renner told her followers. “I have no idea where I’m going to live or how I’m going to care for my son.”

Although she spoke openly about her worries, the mother of one stressed that her faith in Allah helps her cope.

Renner continued to compare herself to Alice in Wonderland, confessing that she felt like Alice after eating the cookie that made her too big to fit in her house.

“I’ve outgrown my place,” she said. “The facade is fading, alhamdulillah, and I’m at a point where I don’t want anything that doesn’t have my name on it. Take it away. It served no purpose here.”

Yet she insisted that she “doesn’t want a penny more than” she “should have.”

“I can do a lot with little,” she concluded.

After she shared her emotional update about feeling “incredibly uncertain” about her future, social media users expressed outrage.

“Go into your lifestyle and live a little,” suggested one.

Another scoffed: “There are women who don’t have to pay child support, work two jobs, and still don’t know how to pay the rent, while making $5,000 a month and sitting in a Benz.”

Renner recently converted to Islam and in her latest posts she can be seen wearing a hijab.

The influencer, who had previously dressed provocatively in her social media posts, said earlier this month that she was trusting in “signs” from the universe.

“I will enjoy every moment of my walk,” she said.

Although she explained that she was going through a difficult time, the mother of one insisted that her faith in Allah was helping her to cope

She also said that she is considering getting Botox treatment under her arms to prevent sweating, as she struggles with the subtle look in the hot weather.

Renner rose to prominence through her relationship with Washington and made headlines several times with a series of scandalous statements.

She and 25-year-old NBA star Washington began dating sometime in 2020 before splitting up the following year, with the NBA player writing a vague tweet about someone who was “just pretending the whole time.”

Renner told Akademiks that she and Washington met when she was 26 and he was playing at the University of Kentucky.

Washington has earned over $17 million in his professional career and signed a three-year, $48 million contract extension with the Hornets last summer.

Renner also made headlines last year when she was spotted having dinner with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal in Beverly Hills.
