Bill Belichick celebrated the 2014 Patriots on Instagram on Sunday, ten years after their historic victory in Super Bowl XLIX.

New England held its 2024 home opener on Sunday with several surprise guests and festivities at Gillette Stadium for the game against the Seahawks. Although he was unable to attend, Belichick posted a message paying tribute to all the players, coaches, staff and fans.

“They did everything at a championship level – the little things in everyday life that no one else saw, and the big things, the legendary things under pressure for the whole world to see,” he wrote.

Several Bruins players and Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla were in attendance at Sunday’s game. Former Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler, whose last-minute interception gave the team a win over Seattle in 2014, served as honorary “Keeper of the Light.”

“I am forever grateful for the great team effort and for all the Patriots fans who supported us with so much enthusiasm,” Belichick wrote on Instagram. “We all experienced a magical journey together.”
