White, the Celtics’ star guard and University of Colorado graduate, attended last week’s big rival game against the Colorado St. Rams at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins.

He reportedly seemed to enjoy the game without any issues, however, a witness told TMZ that he got into a verbal altercation with some Rams fans as the Buffaloes easily handled the Rams on Saturday.

In the third quarter, the situation escalated when the verbal exchange turned violent. The man with the CSU cap pointed with his arm at the side of White’s head.

White played at the University of Colorado from 2016 to 2017 after starting out at the Division II University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. The 30-year-old had a fairly successful college career with the Buffalos, earning First-Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2017 after averaging 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. White was also named to the five-man All-Defensive Team.

Due to his outstanding performance in his only season with Colorado, he was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft with the number 29 pick.

He wasn’t considered a major draft choice at the time, but over time he became one of the league’s best supporting players. White played five seasons in San Antonio before being traded to the Celtics before the 2022 NBA trade deadline in exchange for Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, a 2022 first-round pick (which became Blake Wesley), and the rights to trade 2028 first-round picks.

The star guard played a crucial role for the Celtics in the 2023-24 season, leading them to their first NBA title in 16 years. White averaged 15.2 points, 5.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game last season and received a four-year, $125.9 million contract extension this offseason.

White also just won a gold medal with the U.S. team when it defeated France in the gold medal game at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in mid-August.
