Due to a wildfire in the Crystal Lakes area in the foothills west of Fort Collins, Larimer County authorities issued a mandatory evacuation order on Monday.
The wildfire has been named the Pearl Fire, Larimer County sheriff’s officials said. Several local fire departments are responding and air support has been requested, sheriff’s officials said.
The first evacuation order at 11:55 a.m. affected Crystal Lakes, south of Black Mountain and north of Lake Erie, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said on social media.
At 12:45 p.m., authorities extended the evacuation order to residents in the area of county roads 86 and 170.
A second, voluntary evacuation order was issued for residents north of Black Mountain to the Wyoming state border, instructing people to “GATHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS AND PREPARE TO EVACUATE.”
In addition, Larimer County officials are also urging residents in the Lake Erie and Mitchell Ditch areas to evacuate.
An evacuation center has been set up at Livermore Community Hall, 2044 W. County Road 74E.
