Broncos’ Bo Nix gave blunt explanation for costly interception against Steelers

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix struggled during the team’s 13-6 Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. He has yet to throw a single passing touchdown in his two NFL games.

Nix had a chance to score six points for the Broncos on Sunday, but a missed throw in the end zone was laboriously intercepted.

After the game, a reporter asked Nix to explain the play to them, which he did, albeit bluntly.

“Uh, yeah. I fell back. Threw it to the other team,” Nix explained expressionlessly.

This will certainly provide a detailed description of what went wrong with the game.

Denver was forced down the field and reached the Steelers’ 6-yard line in the third quarter. On second down and goal, Nix tried to find Courtland Sutton in the end zone, but it was Pittsburgh’s Cory Trice Jr. who caught the football. It was Nix’s fourth interception of the season, as he struggled to read coverages and force throws early in his professional career.

This throw in particular seemed to be a sore spot for Nix, who did not want to elaborate on it after the game.

Nix completed 20 of 35 passes for 246 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He was Denver’s most successful runner with 25 yards on four attempts.
