Patrick Mahomes was saved by a penalty on his first interception of the drive.

He wasn’t so lucky on his second one. With the Cincinnati Bengals leading 22-17 against the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth quarter on Sunday, Mahomes looked for the speedy rookie Xavier Worthy far down the left sideline. Instead, he found Cam Taylor-Britt.

The Bengals cornerback had Worthy well covered as he ran a go route on second down, then leapt up to catch the ball one-handed with his right hand, just like Odell Beckham Jr.

He secured the catch and backed up his statement after trolling Worthy in preparation for Sunday’s game.

“Speed. That’s everything,” Taylor-Britt said of Worthy last week. “He can run straight. Do jet sweeps and just run straight. There’s not much else he can do, so that’s all.”

The interception seemed to give the Bengals control of a rematch of two of the last three AFC championship games, but Cincinnati immediately gave the ball back.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow fumbled on the ensuing drive. Chiefs cornerback Chamarri Conner scooped up the ball and scored a touchdown that gave the Chiefs a 23-22 lead.

Kansas City’s attempt at a two-point conversion failed, but after Mahomes’ second interception of the day, they had already regained control of the game.
