ESPN College GameDay heads to Oklahoma for SEC showdown with Tennessee

ESPN’s College GameDay travels to Norman, Oklahoma next Saturday for the first-ever SEC game. Tennessee And Oklahoma “Duel,” the show announced.

The game is not only a crucial SEC duel, but also marks the return of the Tennessee head coach to Norman Josh Heupelwho led the Sooners to the national championship as quarterback and once worked there as an assistant coach.

Both teams will likely enter the primetime clash undefeated, as the Sooners led 3-0 on Saturday afternoon and Tennessee was ahead at the time the venue was announced. Kent State51-0.

First, there are the young quarterbacks taking the reins of their respective offenses, with varying degrees of success. Jackson Arnold has had his ups and downs as the Sooners offense has yet to play a dominant game. And for Tennessee, Nico Iamaleava has looked every bit the difference-maker quarterback, and his ability to keep Heupel’s high-powered offense moving has overshadowed some of his mistakes that came from inexperience.

And both teams apparently have a stingy defense.

Entering the weekend, both the Sooners and Volunteers boasted top-20 defenses, albeit to a small extent.
