Tulane vs Oklahoma: Odds, Tips and Predictions

The No. 13 Oklahoma Sooners (2-0) welcome the Tulane Green Wave (1-1) at Memorial Stadium in Norman on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below we analyze the college football odds from FanDuel Sportsbook around the Tulane vs. Oklahoma Opportunitiesand give our expert college football picks and predictions.

Tulane’s season has been a rollercoaster ride so far. After crushing Southeast Louisiana 52-0, they suffered a tough 34-27 loss to Kansas State last week. The Green Wave led 20-10 at halftime and were up 27-20 in the 4th quarter, but gave up 14 unanswered points and lost. Tulane outscored Kansas State 491-396, but turnovers and a late fumble return cost them the game.

Oklahoma is 2-0 but has had a mixed start to the season. They beat Temple 51-3 in Week 1, but last week’s 16-12 win over Houston was much closer than expected. Oklahoma was outgained 318-249 in total yards. QB Jackson-Arnold threw for 174 yards and 2 TD. The defense was solid, but the offense needs to be more consistent as more difficult games lie ahead.

Oklahoma is No. 13 in the Survey of LBM trainers in the USA, conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports

Tips and predictions for Tulane vs Oklahoma

forecast

Oklahoma 24, Tulane 14

Money line

HAPPEN.

The Sooners will win this game, but it will be close, so I’m betting on the Green Wave to win this one.

Against the spread

Bet Tulane +13.5 (-114).

After narrowly missing a win against Kansas State, the Green Waves are fired up. They played well last week and if they can shake off that loss, they could pose a serious challenge to Oklahoma. The Sooners didn’t look good against Houston and will need to step up to pull off a win.

Tulane has been on a roll lately, winning 21 of their last 26 games and covering the spread in 5 of their last 6 road games in September. They have also been strong against non-conference teams, winning the 1st half in 6 of their last 7 meetings and the 1st quarter in 4 of their last 5 games. Given their recent performance and ability to navigate difficult road games, Tulane seems like a safe bet to cover the spread.

Over/Under

Bet under 46.5 (-110).

Tulane’s road openers have hit the bottom line in 7 of their last 8 games and have been below average in 7 of their last 10 games. Oklahoma is also on the bottom trend, with both of their games this season falling below the point total. Additionally, 6 of the Sooners’ last 7 home games against non-conference teams have been below average. Given these patterns, going for the bottom line seems like a smart move.
