The starting lineups for Manchester City's clash with Brentford have been confirmed

Manchester City and Brentford have confirmed their starting lineups for tonight’s Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side could face a difficult test as Thomas Frank’s side have traditionally made life difficult for the world champions. The Bees were the last team to beat City at the Etihad in November 2022.

Manchester City will be looking to continue their perfect start to the 24/25 season. The champions have won their first three games of the Premier League season against Chelsea, Ipswich Town and West Ham. A win against Brentford would give the champions their fourth win in a row.

However, they will be without Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb against Brentford. Bobb is out with a broken leg. The young winger is not expected to return until the end of the year. Ake sustained an injury while playing for the Netherlands and Pep Guardiola confirmed that the defender is not expected to return until the next international break.

Here are the starting lineups ahead of today’s clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola has made four changes to the starting eleven that beat West Ham two weeks ago. Kyle Walker, Ilkay Gündogan, Savinho and John Stones are new in the team, while Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Bernardo Silva and Jeremy Doku are out.

Erling Haaland is in the champions’ starting line-up. The Premier League’s top scorer’s participation in today’s game was uncertain following the death of a close friend during the week. But he is in the starting line-up today.

Starters: Ederson, Walker (C), Stones, Akanji, Lewis, Gündogan, Kovacic, De Bruyne, Grealish, Savinho, Haaland.

Substitute: Stefan Ortega, Dias, Doku, Rodrigo, Bernardo Silva, Gvardiol, Nunes, Foden, McAtee.
