Clemson is off. It should be a stress-free Saturday, right?

It’s a stress-free football weekend. At least for Clemson fans, I guess.

The Tigers, ranked 22nd in the latest Associated Press poll, have this week off, meaning they can enjoy the fruits of Clemson’s 46-point victory over Appalachian State for another week.

The best part about the free date is that you can watch college football and relax all weekend, unless your partner is nagging you about the tasks you’ve been putting off for the last two weeks.

While you reminisce about Cade Klubnik’s seven-touchdown day a week ago, you can turn on the TV and watch the Bayou Bengals take on the Columbia Chickens. Or maybe you can switch over to Alabama vs. Wisconsin on a Big Noon Kickoff Saturday.

If that doesn’t work for you, there’s still the Memphis-Florida State game. Can the Seminoles stop the run? Will DJ Uiagalelei be benched?

Who knows?

The good news is that you don’t care.

If the lunchtime program doesn’t appeal to you, you can also participate in Rivalry Football at 3:30 p.m. You can choose between a cup of apples, a backyard brawl, and an Oregon State Civil War.

Or you can see which coach has it warmer when Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame try not to lose to the Big Ten version of a Group 5 school and when Billy Napier’s Florida Gators try not to get swept by a second-seeded Power 4 team in the first three weeks of the season.

There’s bound to be plenty of drama in all of these games, and the best news is that you won’t care who wins.

In prime time, you can catch first-place Georgia’s game against Kentucky. This will be a game of speed and roadkill. When they’re not racing down the 441 in Athens or hanging out at the Clarke County Detention Center, the Bulldogs are unstoppable on the football field, while their Kentucky counterparts were hit by a chicken truck on the way to a Tyson chicken plant last week.

Tony Elliott and his Cavaliers will look to open the season with three straight wins as they host the school that made it so difficult for Florida State and Clemson to leave the ACC. Perhaps Elliott can get a little revenge for his alma mater.

How fitting that primetime will be when his Colorado Buffaloes take on the Buffs’ Pac-12 replacement, the Colorado State Rams. This game should have plenty of fireworks, especially given the shots the Rams have taken against the Buffaloes.

Maybe Colorado can show how far they’ve come with their TikTok and Instagram training.

The best part is that you don’t have to stress about it, so sit back, watch some football and enjoy the weekend. I’m sure Clemson will give you plenty of stress next week.
