McDonald’s expands its $5 menu offering at most locations in the US
The extension of the promotion came after a majority of McDonald’s branches across the country decided to continue the offer in December, the fast-food giant said on Thursday.
As part of the offer, customers can choose between two sandwich options – a McDouble or a McChicken – plus small portions of French fries, four McNuggets and a small soda.
“The extension of the $5 meal offer and the other offers we are announcing for our fall program are just some of the ways we are working hard to provide great meals at a fair price,” said Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA.
McDonald’s gives classic menu item a makeover to reverse sales decline
The menu item first appeared on McDonald’s menus in the US in June.
Many consumers are still suffering from high inflation and some prefer to eat at home rather than go to fast food restaurants.
McDonald’s menu contract was last extended in July.
Customers can expect further offers and promotions in the fall, McDonald’s announced on Thursday.
The fast-food chain will offer a 10-piece Chicken McNugget box for $1 once a week through its app from November 4 to December 2. Another digital promotion is planned for National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day on November 9, with McCrispy sandwiches for $2.

McDonald’s also plans to continue the “Free Fries Friday” campaign. Customers receive free medium-sized fries for a dollar in the McDonald’s app. The campaign started last October.
Other fast-food companies have also launched low-cost offers in recent months, including Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy’s and Jimmy John’s.
