On Friday, Playboi Carti’s 29th birthday, the Atlanta rapper released a new song titled “ALL RED” ahead of his long-awaited third studio album. I AM MUSICthat appears “coming soon.” Listen to the song above.
Shortly before the release, the rapper’s alternate Instagram, @opium_00pium, was updated with a post announcing the new music. “TONIGHT? ALL RED??” reads the account’s caption.
Ahead of the announcement, Carti also made new merchandise, including box sets, available for pre-order to keep fans hooked until the release of the long-awaited project.
The box sets include Playboi Carti logo hoodies, a t-shirt and a hat. According to the website, the box sets will ship on April 18, 2025. A digital album is also available for pre-order and will be “delivered via email upon release,” the website says.
“The digital album will be available shortly before the release date, no later than six months after April 18, 2025,” the description continues.

On Thursday, September 12, Carti’s fans nearly got high blood pressure when his accounts were updated with a post in which Blackhaine shouted, “‘New Carti announcement tonight!'”
The announcement comes as fans patiently await Carti’s third studio album, tentatively titled I am music. The “Type Shit” rapper has already released a teaser for the project, which follows the one from 2020. Lots of red — during his performance at the Splash! Music Festival in Chemnitz. After treating the audience to his Travis Scott collaboration “FE!N,” Carti assured his fans that his third album was on the way.
“I promise you, the album is coming,” he said during the set. “So it’s only right that I come here tonight and present you with a world premiere.”
Carti then played his new tracks “All Red” and “G-Wagon”.
The rapper has not yet announced an official release date for I Am Music, but according to Billboardit’s expected to be released by the end of the year. According to the outlet, Carti and producer Cardo have been in studio mode developing a new sound inspired by producers like DJ Toomp, DJ Paul and Juicy J, as well as “the aesthetic of John Carpenter’s films.” They’ve called the sound “burnt music.”
“We were in the studio and thought, ‘This music is burned,'” Cardo explained.
