OSU and OU announce OKC game and new title sponsor of Bedlam Series

Oklahoma State and Oklahoma have announced a new title sponsor for the Bedlam Rivalry Series and details of their nonconference men’s basketball game at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Tickets for the game go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, September 18. However, Cowboy Basketball season ticket holders will receive an email with information about a special presale offer. For more information about presales or to purchase a season ticket, contact the OSU Ticket Office at 877-ALL-4OSU.

The folks at Oklahoma Oil and Natural Gas will be the new official title sponsor of the Bedlam Rivalry Series, an annual competition that highlights the competitive spirit between the Cowboys and Sooners in a wide range of sports.

“The people of Oklahoma Oil and Natural Gas are dedicated to supporting our state, including continuing the historic rivalry between two of our most beloved universities,” said Mindy Stitt, executive director of the OERB. “We are proud to leverage the collective strength of Oklahoma’s largest industry to support OU and OSU and continue our commitment to education.”

Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry is investing at record levels in the state and communities, paying a total of more than $2.9 billion in taxes and more than $800 million directly to education last year. Oil and natural gas remains Oklahoma’s largest industry, playing a significant role in employment, household income and the state’s GDP. The industry’s mission is to enable unlimited opportunity for all Oklahomans by providing funds for education, investing in communities and restoring land.

While Oklahoma State and Oklahoma have been competing for over 100 years, the All-Sports Bedlam Series was first created in the 1999-2000 academic year. Oklahoma State holds a 13-11-1 lead in the series.

“OSU fans are very proud of our success in the Bedlam rivalry. While we know Bedlam will look different in the future, we are excited for this game at the Paycom Center and are grateful to the folks at Oklahoma Oil and Natural Gas for their support of the series,” said OSU athletic director Chad Weiberg.

This exclusive sponsorship will increase the visibility and excitement of the rivalry between men’s and women’s sports and create a new sense of anticipation and engagement among fans. The Oklahoma Energy Resources Board will receive rights to Bedlam Series, the intellectual property of Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma, participate in fan engagement opportunities throughout the season, receive exposure through television and radio broadcasts and venue signage, and be featured in social media storytelling content, among other opportunities.

Cowboy Sports Properties and Sooner Sports Properties, the local teams of Learfield, the media and technology company that advances college sports, own exclusive multimedia rights for Oklahoma State University Athletics and the University of Oklahoma Athletics, respectively, and handle all sponsorships, signage and on-site advertising on behalf of the Cowboys and Sooners.
