Sabrina Carpenter shined on stage during her performance at the 2024 MTV VMAs!

On Wednesday, September 11, the 25-year-old singer appeared in an impressive outfit and presented a medley of her 2024 hits “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” and “Espresso” at the star-studded ceremony at New York’s UBS Arena.

After impressing on the VMAs red carpet in a sparkling vintage Bob Mackie gown that Madonna wore to the 1991 Oscars, Carpenter switched into a very unique Victoria’s Secret look for her appearance.

Styled by Jared Ellner, the musician wore a stunning bodysuit corset with her signature kiss on the back. According to a press release obtained by PEOPLE, the incredible look took over 180 hours to complete.

The ensemble was adorned with over 100,000 hand-placed stones and featured hand-crafted crystal fringe covered with over 18,500 crystal beads.

Fans can purchase similar looks online; an Atelier Victoria’s Secret Wicked Crystal Tulle Slip Dress, an Atelier Victoria’s Secret Wicked Unlined Tulle Crystal Balconette Bra and an Atelier Victoria’s Secret Crystal Chain V-String Panty cost a total of $2,024.

During her space-inspired performance, Carpenter opened with “Please Please Please” from a swing held above the audience by a giant moon figure, before paying tribute to Britney Spears by incorporating the famous spoken interlude from her “Oops!… I Did It Again” music video. She then launched into her latest single, “Taste.”

Carpenter, who made out with an alien during the performance, ended the set by belting out her song “Espresso” while surrounded by dancing astronauts. All three songs are from Carpenter’s latest album Short and sweet.

In addition to performing at Wednesday’s star-studded ceremony hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, the singer also won her first Moon Person after “Espresso” won Song of the Year.

Carpenter, who was nominated for six awards at the event, began her acceptance speech by saying, “I’ve literally never won one of these awards before. This is really special.”

“The first people I want to thank are the fans,” Carpenter said to cheers from her fans before joking, “If you clap after everything I say, they’re going to call me off the stage, so just a minute.”

“But I just want to say that you guys are the reason I get to do what I love, but also the reason we get to have so much fun and share music together,” she continued. “And I’m just so grateful to have the best, truly the best fans in the world. I know it sounds cheesy, but I love you guys.”

After thanking her managers, family and everyone involved in “Espresso,” she referenced that much-discussed lyric, saying, “And thanks to that espresso, my man.”
