Jon Bon Jovi saw a woman trying to jump off a bridge. What happened next

Bon Jovi was in Nashville and shot a music video on the bridge

Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi was praised on social media for his heroic efforts to help a woman in distress standing on the edge of a bridge in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday night. According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, 62-year-old Bon Jovi and his team were on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge when they noticed the woman standing precariously over the Cumberland River.

A video released by police shows the woman holding onto the railing while standing on the ledge before Bon Jovi and another woman approach her. The singer can be seen waving to her and leaning on the railing next to her to calm her down. They managed to lure her back onto the bridge, preventing a potential tragedy. The rescue was met with relief as Bon Jovi and the other woman hugged the woman.

Nashville Police Chief John Drake praised Bon Jovi’s actions and said, “We all have to do our part to protect each other.”

He was quickly celebrated as a “hero” on the Internet.

One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Jon Bon Jovi, the biggest rock star in the world and now a hero.”

Another commented: “Legend has it that he said, ‘Take my hand, we can do this, I swear'” – a reference to the lyrics of Bon Jovi’s hit I live by prayer.

This user referenced another hit by the rock legend in a comment. “This is awesome. He probably said:I will be there for you’ to get them to come back to safety,” the comment said.

The incident occurred while Bon Jovi was in Nashville filming a music video on the bridge. According to the BBC, separate footage on social media showed the singer and his team setting up camera equipment in the area.
