Instagram model allegedly killed two people under the influence of “pink cocaine”

MIAMI, Fla. (WKRC) – A 24-year-old self-proclaimed Instagram model was sent to jail after she allegedly killed two people in a car crash while under the influence of “pink cocaine.”

Maecee Lathers was arrested on August 11 after she ran a red light in her Mercedes and collided with a Range Rover, prosecutors said. The two cars then crashed into a silver Suzuki.

Authorities said Lathers attempted to leave the scene but was stopped by witnesses. When officers arrived, they claim Lathers was vomiting and she admitted to being under the influence of a party drug called “Tusi” or “2C” or “Pink Cocaine.” In addition, according to police, Lathers claimed she was “from the future and had a crystal ball.”

Police said that just before the crash, Lathers was driving 57 mph but had her “gas pedal at 100%.” At the time of impact, Lathers was reportedly driving 78 mph.

According to police, Lathers’ driver’s license was also revoked at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Range Rover survived, but two of the three passengers in the Suzuki died. A rear-seat passenger was killed in the impact, and the driver later died of his injuries in hospital.

The driver was father and husband Abraham Ismael. After his death, his wife (the third passenger in the Suzuki) launched a GoFundMe campaign for his death.

“Abraham’s son, just 16 years old, is without the love and care of his father, who was his everything,” she wrote. “Due to my injuries, I am unable to work at the moment and the young man’s life has changed radically. His mother, who lives in Nicaragua and suffers from Parkinson’s disease, is also now in mourning, helpless and without the financial support that her son gave her.”

On August 22, Lathers was charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and two counts of reckless driving. Law & Crime reported. After her court date on September 10, she is now charged with manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol, as toxicology results allegedly confirm the model’s drug use, the newspaper said.
