It’s a love story, but Travis Kelce probably didn’t say yes to a ticket to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
Although his partner Taylor Swift is the most nominated artist of the night (with a whopping 12 nominations), we probably won’t see the NFL player in attendance since the regular football season has already started and Kelce is in the middle of training mode.
While we can assume his job makes it difficult for him to get away, an inside source confirmed to Page Six that this was the reason he would not be there. “(Travis) had to be back in Kansas City by Tuesday for practice,” said the source.
It would also make sense if Kelce didn’t show up because he and Swift were able to spend some time together just last week when they flew to New York City and watched a few matches at the US Open before attending a wedding and enjoying a classy date night as well.
Kelce also seemed to hint that he would be absent when he sent his love to Swift in the show’s final episode. New heights Podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason. “Hopefully Taylor can take some of these, she’s nominated for like 10 of these things tonight,” Travis said. “Hopefully she can take some moon men. Those are always one of the cooler trophies. The space guys.” Jason also chimed in, adding, “Let’s go, Tay! Come on, Tay!”
Although Swift and Kelce have yet to make their red carpet debut, it will surely be a breathtaking moment when it finally happens.
