Dave Grohl and his wife attended Wimbledon weeks before the cheating and baby bombshell
That wasn’t the best of him.
Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl publicly admitted to cheating on his wife Jordyn Blum. He attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament with her just weeks before announcing that he was the father of an illegitimate child.
The 55-year-old rock legend said in an Instagram post on September 10: “I recently became a father to a baby girl who was born outside of my marriage.”
Grohl, who has been described as “the nicest guy in rock ‘n’ roll,” continued: “I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
The “Best of You” singer concluded her statement by saying, “We are grateful for your consideration for all the children affected as we move forward together.”
A spokesperson for Grohl told the Post that there was no further comment from the musician at this time.
Grohl has been married to 48-year-old Blum since 2003. The couple have three daughters together: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.
Weeks before this announcement, on July 2, Grohl and Blum were in London at Wimbledon and sat in the royal box with David Beckham – who had also been accused of having an affair in the past.
At the posh tennis event, Grohl swapped his usual casual rocker look for a suit and slicked his hair back.
There is a strict dress code for the elite royal box. To sit there, you have to be invited, as seats cannot be purchased.
The Foo Fighters are currently on a world tour.
At the end of June, Grohl joked to the audience at a performance in Manchester that he felt “like Taylor Swift” during the band’s performance.
In concert footage captured by TikTok user StrettyEnd, Grohl was seen saying: “Listen – tonight, this is my Eras tour, okay? I have a lot of eras. Spelling mistakes. This is my ‘Errors tour,’ how about that? That’s what we should have called this damn tour: The Errors Tour.”
Grohl and Blum tied the knot over 20 years ago in a wedding ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.
The two met in 2001 at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar – but he abandoned her almost immediately.
“When I met my wife, we went on a few dates and I decided I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship. So I just stopped calling,” Grohl revealed in a 2017 interview with ELLE.
Fortunately, Grohl realized his mistake.
“After three months, I had an epiphany and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again,'” he said.
