Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman are going their separate ways after more than two decades of marriage.

The 53-year-old celebrity stylist and the 55-year-old banker announced their decision to end their marriage after 26 years in a joint statement via Zoe’s Instagram on Monday, September 9.

“After 33 years together and 26 years of marriage, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage,” the announcement began. “We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and the countless memories we have made together.”

“Our top priority has always been and will always be our children. We are committed to raising our boys together and continuing to work together in the many businesses we run together,” they wrote. The couple has two sons together: Skyler Morrison (13) and Kaius Jagger (10).

“We ask for privacy as we begin this new chapter. With love and gratitude – Rachel and Rodger,” they concluded the statement.

The couple’s relationship was previously documented in the Bravo seriess The Rachel Zoe Projectwhich aired from 2008 to 2013. In 2015, they starred in Lifetime’s Fashionably late with Rachel Zoe (2015) and Berman is listed as a co-host on iHeartRadio. Climbing in high heels with Rachel Zoe Podcasts.

The couple first became a couple in 1991 and married on February 15, 1998. Zoe celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary in February with a sweet tribute on Instagram.

In August 2022, she celebrated the 31st anniversary of her relationship with Berman with a celebratory Instagram photo.

Prior to her announcement, Berman was conspicuously absent from Zoe’s social media activity, prompting some followers to ask Zoe about Berman’s whereabouts.

Berman was featured for the last time on Zoe’s profile for Father’s Day this year. She wrote a thoughtful message to Berman, calling him, “One of the best to ever do it. Our boys are the luckiest and we are so thankful for you,” she wrote.

Zoe told PEOPLE back in April 2021 that she and Berman live their “separate” lives apart from each other so they are not constantly dependent on each other.

“The idea is that you are dependent but at the same time independent. There is the life that you share and there is the life that is yours,” she explained. “It really takes the pressure off the other person, because if you are solely dependent on the other person for your happiness and your goals, it can’t really work.”

Berman agreed, adding, “I always find that the best relationships are the ones where you’re really there for the other person and you’re really trying to help them achieve their goals. At the end of the day, it’s the other person’s happiness that you have, right?”
