The San Francisco 49ers host the New York Jets tonight at Levi’s Stadium, and since it’s a Monday night game, both teams had until 1 p.m. PT today to change their lineups before the game, rather than having to do so the day before.
The 49ers have announced that Tackle Trent Williams was added to the active roster. The team also released offensive lineman Brandon Parker to make room on the listuh.
In addition, the 49ers promoted the following players from the practice squad:
- DL Sam Okuayinonu
- S Tracy Walker III
Players who were promoted from the practice squad to the active roster will return to the practice squad on Tuesday. A practice squad player can be promoted a maximum of three times on a game day before he must either be promoted to the active roster or re-signed to the practice squad via a waiver list. On Saturday, the 49ers ruled out two players: defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos (knee) and linebacker Dee Winters (ankle). Safety Talanoa Hufanga (knee) was listed as questionable, while guard Aaron Banks (finger) was listed as questionable.
The participation of running back Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles tendon) was also listed as questionable, but is expected to play (Update: McCaffrey was surprisingly listed as inactive).
