Kate Middleton will ‘do less’ after cancer treatment (exclusive)

Kate Middleton is getting used to her life again after completing chemotherapy for cancer.

On September 9, Kate released an intimate and revealing new video featuring herself, Prince William and their children Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6). In the emotional video, she opens up about her journey with cancer and speaks openly about how the experience has changed her outlook on life. The footage, which shows the family enjoying quiet moments together, shows how deeply personal this chapter has been for the Princess of Wales, who continues to draw strength from her family as she focuses on her recovery.

Although the 42-year-old Princess of Wales has completed her chemotherapy, she is not expected to return to her royal duties any time soon.

“She had a lovely summer and is very concerned about her wellbeing. She will definitely be doing less,” says a source close to her.

For the rest of the year, she will have a more relaxed schedule, including a few select public appearances as part of a gradual return to royal duties. Decisions for 2025 will depend on medical recommendations, according to PEOPLE.

While working from home in Adelaide Cottage, Princess Kate continues to be involved in her causes, including her work with early childhood children. While she will likely join the Royal Family in November to attend Remembrance Day and is actively involved in planning her annual Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey in December, her focus remains on recovery and spending quality time with William and her children.

As Kate said in her message, her goal is to be cancer-free, and that will take some time. However, PEOPLE has learned that she is looking forward to making some public appearances in the coming months, if possible.

As the Princess has previously said, she has “good days” and “bad days,” so the Palace will not give any significant advance warning of any appearances as she focuses on her recovery.
